The Asbury Revival

Evangelist Nick Hall discusses how is wanting to keep the energy around the Asbury revival going on ‘Fox News @ Night.’

If you've seen the news recently, you know that a revival broke out at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky a few weeks ago. After the school's chapel service on Wednesday, February 8, students and guests continued to worship, read Scripture, pray for the lost, and repent of sin 24 hours a day for 15 days. Thousands of students arrived from 160 colleges across the country to participate, pouring into the chapel and overflow spaces each day. Many worshipped on the lawn outside.

Guests experienced the Holy Spirit and interceded for healing, wholeness, and peace. This revival has spread to Lee University in Tennessee, Cedarville University in Ohio, Wheaton College, and more. The Pulse HQ hosted students for a 58-hour worship session in Minneapolis from February 16-18.

Asbury experienced a revival in 1970 that lasted for 5 days. The revival going on now surpassed the earlier revival in length of time, with worship happening each day and night for 2 weeks.

Nick Hall traveled to Asbury twice to help in any way he could, meeting with leaders and helping set up volunteer support. When Asbury leadership drew the meetings to a close, they passed the baton to Nick and the Pulse team to organize a commissioning event at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky on February 26. Conducted in the spirit of the Asbury meetings, the event would provide worship; prayer; Gospel messages from Nick Hall, Dr. Robert Coleman, and others; and times of repentance. The event drew thousands of people through the 9 hours. Visitors were healed and changed, and they were sent home with digital resources to carry the torch of evangelism to their own campuses and communities

The events in Kentucky demonstrate that people are hungry for a move of God. They are longing for Jesus. Revival has come. We encourage you to see how God is moving in your own ministries and communities during this unprecedented time.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • Pray that we and people in our areas of influence would draw closer to Jesus during the Lenten season.

  • Pray that the students impacted by the Rupp Arena commissioning event and the Asbury revival would continue to sense God's presence in their lives and share about Jesus.

  • Pray that the students who attended the Pulse Campus Tour and responded to
the Gospel would connect with local churches, student groups, or other
    believers.

  • Pray that God would open up doors for the Gospel to be shared in our cities.
